E ngā rangatira o te motu, tēnā rā koutou
Te Rōpū Whakahau in collaboration with NZLPP, are thrilled to provide a FREE professional development opportunity.
The Mātauranga Māori professional development is a compulsory (pending COVID) overnight marae stay which will cover:
- Mātauranga Māori in NZ libraries
- te Ao Māori
- Ngā Upoko Tukutuku (formerly Māori Subject Headings) and
- Māori initiatives
The Mātauranga Māori professional development opportunities will be offered at:
Whāngarei – 4 & 5 November 2021
Ōtautahi – April 2022
Rotorua – July 2022
Whanganui ā-Tara – November 2022
For any of these FREE opportunities, please provide your expression of interest here, and place it in your calendars
The first professional development will take place at Pehiāweri marae, Whāngarei on 4-5 November 2021.
Due to COVID travel restrictions, limited spaces, and the power of communities working with community, preference will be given to:
- Support NZLPP initiatives
- NZLPP secondees and their managers
- Members of the local regional communities where the offerings are held.
You will find further information of the COVID processes at Pehiāweri marae here
NB: We are currently thinking about options regarding overnight stay if we have not reached Level 1 in Tai Tokerau.
Please share with your networks and your workers especially those seconded into roles or needing further training in Mātauranga Māori and Ngā Upoko Tukutuku. Please note that our Far North region will have preference as there are more opportunities within Auckland than those provided in the Far North. Please still express your interest if you are unable to receive further training in this capacity noting limited numbers.
