We have four annual scholarships available.  The value of each scholarship is $500.00 and is available for the purpose of assisting Te Rōpū Whakahau personal members to further professional development by attending a National event that supports mātauranga Māori and/or indigenous information initiatives.  Download the Toipoto Application FormApplications are for events held in the current financial year and may be submitted at any time between 1 July and 30 June.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a current personal member of Te Rōpū Whakahau and have been a member for at least 12 months at the time of application

Conditions

  • Applicants must have written support from their employer to give them time off to attend the conference and have the balance of their conference costs either covered by their employer or be willing to cover any other costs themselves
  • Applicants must present or as a minimum requirement attend conference sessions that cover mātauranga Māori and/or indigenous knowledge (Preference will be given to applicants who are attending conference as a presenter)
  • Successful applicants must:
    • Provide a detailed report to Ngā Kaiwhakahau within one month of their return
    • Write an item for the website Pānui within two months of their return
    • Provide a presentation at the following hui ā tau or regional event for their rohe
  • Conduct that reflects positively and enhances the reputation of Te Rōpū Whakahau is expected at all times

  • All applications will be acknowledged within three days of receipt.  Please contact a representative of Ngā Kaiwhakahau if you have any queries or you have not received confirmation
