This position will appeal to your interest in developing and delivering kaupapa Māori/Pacifica initiatives for all ages including Māori/Pacifica language and bilingual story-telling sessions.
Your library duties will include rostered front of house reference shifts where your knowledge and customer service skills will shine.
You will be confident about facilitating programming in a te reo Māori environment and enjoy collaborating with our children’s library team on the delivery of te reo Māori-based programming.
Your command of Ngā Upoko Tukutuku and their application will be invaluable. Your goal as pou tokomanawa, will be to use your knowledge to support and walk alongside our staff as they grow their competencies and initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification preferably in Matauranga Māori/Pacifica studies, and/or a professional library qualification, and/or significant experience working in a public library. To facilitate and support the delivery of te reo Māori and/or Pacific language initiatives, proficiency in te reo Māori and/or a Pacific Language is required.
This is a permanent, full-time position that includes occasional Saturday shifts.
