Travel

Due to the travel involved for this years Hui, we recommend car pooling where possible. We will leave together as a convoy from the Murupara library, 48 Pine Drive, Murupara. Please arrive at the library on Monday 4 November 2024 by 2.00pm for a 2.30pm departure. If you would like to know who is attending Hui from your region this year, please contact tumuaki@trw.org.nz and we will forward your details to your regional representative to assist.

Those arriving from Te Waka a Maui, we recommend you fly to Rotorua, book and pick up your rental from there. Please be aware when booking flights, that you need to allow travel from Rotorua.

Some travel details to note

On Friday 8 November, we are departing for Rotorua from Maungapōhatu at 10am, so expect to be on the road for 3.5 hours to arrive in Rotorua comfortably.

SH 38 between Te Whaiti and Maungapōhatu is predominantly gravel and may take longer than Google says.

For your safety, please be aware that you are entering a rural area with the possibility of wondering livestock, including cows, horses and locals.
