Although it is small, it is pounamu – a fitting theme for this year’s hui-a-tau in the heart of te Tai Poutini, the home of pounamu. Even though something may appear small or unimportant, it should not be underestimated as it can hold great value or significance. Much like our hui ā-tau at Arahura Marae this year.
This includes 3 nights stay at Arahura Marae and kai being catered by the Kapahaka groups from Westland District High School and Greymouth High School.
Our programme includes: Haukāinga highlighting key aspects of the marae, local activities such as visiting the Arahura awa, historical sites within Mawhera and kupenga weaving. We will arrange transfers from Hokitika Airport to Arahura Marae and back.
